About SEWI-GHANA

A registered nonprofit organisation founded in 2025 by Stephen Koduah, Agnes Koduah, and Justice Opoku Acquah to restore clean water, modern sanitation, and degraded lands in Galamsey-affected communities.

Who We Are

SEWI-GHANA is dedicated to tackling the pressing environmental and public health challenges caused by illegal mining (Galamsey) in Ghana. We provide sustainable solutions that integrate clean water systems, sanitation facilities, and environmental restoration while empowering communities to lead change.

SEWI-GHANA envisions a future where every community in Ghana, especially those affected by Galamsey, has access to clean water, modern sanitation facilities, and restored ecosystems that support sustainable livelihoods.

SEWI-GHANA is dedicated to safeguarding the health, environment, and livelihoods of communities affected by illegal mining (Galamsey) in Ghana through clean water, modern sanitation, and environmental restoration.

What We Do

Sustainable interventions that combine clean water, sanitation, and environmental restoration in Galamsey-prone areas.

1. Clean Water Access

Mechanised boreholes, advanced filtration systems, and community water distribution networks. Regular water quality testing to protect public health.

2. Modern Sanitation

Construction of WC toilet facilities, hygiene education programs, and community-led maintenance to reduce waterborne diseases.

3. Environmental Restoration

Rehabilitation of degraded lands and polluted rivers. Planting of economic trees (cocoa, coconut, oil palm) for biodiversity and sustainable income.

4. Community Empowerment

Education on hygiene, sanitation & environmental stewardship. Collaboration with local leaders, government and NGOs for lasting impact.
